Ever since I was kid I was fascinated by New York, it became my #1 place that I wanted to visit. In high school, I was in drama class and we had the opportunity to go to on a trip to New York and I was so excited. This was finally the moment where I would be able to go and be in the city that never sleeps, but I soon found out that it was not going to be the case. I wasn’t able to go due to the fact that I did not have proper documentation. Since I was born in England all I had was my British passport, and that was not enough. I was so devastated! Since then I put going to New York on the back burner and focused on my education. When I finally started working the first thing I wanted to do was save some money so that I could be able to finally go to NY, and so I did. I went with my sister Jenn and we left on May 7th and returned on May 10th. It was nice to get away from Toronto since I haven’t been anywhere in what seems like forever. We tried to see as much as we could in the amount of time we had. Three days is just not enough to do everything you want to do. We went to Wall Street, Soho, Little Italy, Midtown, Times Square (obviously), Upper East and West side, and Central Park which was just so beautiful. We didn’t actually do a whole lot in terms of touristy things. We wanted to go to the Empire State Building, but when we arrived we were told that we wouldn’t be able to see anything because it was foggy, so that was a fail. Most of the times we actually forgot ourselves. We were so busy trying to take everything in that we forgot to eat, so we did a lot of snacking. Even though we made a list of places to go such as restaurants and places to see, we looked at it once and then just totally forgot about it. We took the subway to get around and I can actually say that my sister and I are pretty much pros so I am proud of that. I consider it to be an achievement and it makes me feel like a New Yorker. Overall, New York lived up to my expectations, even though I didn’t have any Sex and the City moments I still fell in LOVE with the city. I was so sad to leave, but I am thinking of going back again in September!

In terms of shopping I did not get a lot of things surprisingly…
From Macy’s I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Vamp and I also wanted Pure Hollywood, but it was sold out.
I have been on the hunt for an eye cream and one of my co-workers suggested to me that I should try the Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Treatment and I am loving it so far.
I went to Walgreens and bought a couple of Milani products. I got a blush in Luminoso which I absolutely love it really makes your skin glow. I also got two lipsticks one is a light brown nude in the colour Nude Creme the other in Teddy Bear which is brown, and I got a Brilliant Shine lip gloss in Bare Secret. I’ve always wanted to try Jordana products so I got a lipliner in Tawny, and after coming back to Toronto I realized that I forgot to get the mascara that I know a lot of people love which is the Best Lash Extreme. I really wanted to try it out, but there’s always next time!
For clothes I got ripped jean shorts and a red and white stripe crop top from Zara. From Forever 21 I picked up a grey and black long sleeveless shirt and a simple black crop top. By the ways my other obsession besides 90s makeup is crop tops..I can’t stop and won’t stop buying them!
I also picked up some gold earrings from Forever 21. I have fallen in love with hoop earrings again so I got Indian-inspired ones which came in a pack of two and gold honey comb earrings.
